EU AND JAPAN - HOW DIGITAL TRADE CAN SUPPORT BUSINESS

EU AND JAPAN - HOW DIGITAL TRADE CAN SUPPORT BUSINESS
Towards a fair and open business environment

This event will discuss the design of an optimal framework to enable digital trade and unleash new prosperity and growth for business and citizens alike. It will feature senior representatives of the EU, Japanese and German Authorities, industry and other specialists.

Japan and the EU enjoy a historic partnership based on shared values and mutual respect. Both societies have committed to establish free, open and fair global trade, both bilaterally and in the context of the World Trade Organisation. This commitment to trade and to each other is of growing importance as protectionist trends take hold around the world. In today’s globalised economy, cross-border data flows fundamental to daily operations in nearly every sector and for a functional global digital economy.

More information is available on the CeBIT website.

Prior registration is essential. Click here to book your seat.

In addition to the detailed agenda of the event, an event briefing note introducing the topic and the sorts of issues the session will cover is also available.

This digital trade discussion is organised by the Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE) and the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation and takes place at CeBIT in Hannover on Monday, 20 March. Participation is free of charge for CeBIT 2017 ticket holders, but prior online registration is required. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided between English, German and Japanese.
