This EU-Japan workshop was organised on the occasion of “Wind Energy Hamburg 2016” with the following objectives:
(1) to understand the latest developments in the EU and Japanese policy frameworks concerning (floating) offshore wind energy;
(2) to exchange information on the current European and Japanese R&D, demonstration projects and industrial activities in this sector;
(3) to discuss priority areas for further research and ideas for EU-Japan cooperation in floating offshore wind energy.
34 stakeholders from European and Japanese public and private sectors, including key academic and industrial players in floating offshore wind energy, attended the workshop.
