Visit postponed. The Lean in Europe visit to Tetra Pak in Lund (Sweden) was scheduled to take place on Thursday, 12th March 2020 with a pre-visit meeting and dinner held on the previous evening. In light of the COVID-19 precautions this visit will be postponed for the foreseeable future. |
The two lines that participants will visit are Packaging Equipment and Sealing & Creasing. Most of the material produced on the Lund site are for internal purposes or spare parts for the filling machines on the packaging equipment line.
Tetra Pak is the world leader in liquid food processing and packaging. It uses WCM principles to reduce waste, minimise water loss, improve efficiency and reduce energy demand across its operations. It has developed digital solutions such as connected packages with unique QR codes hich can be tracked from manufacture to recycling. Other technology developed by Tetra Pak include automation & information solutions to control equipment, lines and operations (e.g. line controllers and packaging line monitoring system) and advanced automatic cleaning-in-place systems.
