Technology Transfer Webinar 1: IP Valuation

The EU-Japan Centre launched the EU-Japan Technology Transfer Helpdesk, a new service aimed at supporting EU and Japanese companies and individuals in their steps to search for and acquire technologies, as well as bridging the knowledge gap about current available technologies from both Japan and the EU.

Within this frame a series of webinars covering various technology transfer topics will be held.

Webinar 1: IP Valuation: Understanding the Financial Value of Your IP Portfolio

How do you figure out the value of your intellectual property?

In today′s competitive marketplace, smart companies around the globe – from Fortune 500 firms to early stage startups – rely on innovation to keep them one step ahead of the game. The alignment of companies’ intellectual property (IP) with their business strategy is critical for the effective monetization of their innovation.  Having a clear understanding of the value of IP rights and commercialization options helps companies successfully introduce new technologies into the marketplace. 

The webinar was targeted to EU and Japanese companies seeking to understand the value of their intellectual property as a strategic business asset, from the viewpoint of a variety of stakeholders. Through hands-on examples from her IP valuation practice, the speaker will present a practical approach to understanding the methodologies applied and factors considered in the valuation and assessment of IP as they it relates to the corporate IP holder. Some of the special circumstances highlighted in the talk include: IP valuation for funding and IP valuation in M&A deals.
