Workshops in the EU / Call for expressions of interest among EEN partners

In the last couple of years, the EU-Japan Centre has been co-organising half-day cross-cultural workshops at various locations throughout Europe. In its yearly efforts to help European companies to access the Japanese market and provide more relevant and up-to-date information and support, the Centre would like to expand its range of support and services and is planning on organising workshops covering not only Japanese business culture but also present sectorial information* and acknowledge how companies could benefit from the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

1-day “Export Support” workshops in EEN partners’ regions targeting a specific sector*

  • ½ day sectorial presentations
  1. Export procedures
  2. EPA-related benefits
  • ½ day cross cultural

For now, sectors currently available for a presentation are the ones of EPA and of high potential benefits for EU SMEs:

  • Food & beverages (presentations available from April 2020)
  • Textile (presentations available from April 2020)
  • Footwear & leather (presentations available later depending on experts’ deliverables)
  • other sectors are under feasibility study*

In 2020, the Centre would like to co-organise approx. 10 workshops in close collaboration and support of Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) partners. For these workshops, the Centre’s staff would be accompanied by several experts and would inquire EEN partners to ensure at least 20 registered SMEs wishing to participate a few months prior to the potential workshops.

The presentation covering a partner’s sector of interest would be linked with the EPA-related matters for that specific sector. The exact agenda and timing would be discussed individually with the partners prior to workshops, yet we would initially propose sector and EPA-related information to be held in the morning, followed by cross-cultural matters covered in the afternoon.

Furthermore, the Centre would also like to propose 1-hour webinars on expert procedures and EPA-related benefits targeted at EEN local clients and would continue organising half-day workshops on Japanese business culture as done in the last couple of years.

1-hour webinar targeting a specific sector*

  1. Export procedures
  2. EPA-related benefits

½-day “Cross cultural” workshop in EEN partners’ regions

Focusing on the Japanese business culture only (as the ones conducted in the last few years).

If EEN partners would be interested in co-organising these workshops and/or webinars, or have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact Eivilte at eiva@eu-japan.eu. Deadline for submissions - 31 January 2020.
