This Smart Cities in Japan - An Assessment on the Potential for EU-Japan Cooperation and Business Development report begins by outlining Smart City policy and actors in Japan, before considering different types of projects in Japan and abroad and comparing them with international standards. The Report also identifies key sectors of possible cooperation between the EU and Japan and assesses potential obstacles to these opportunities. The Report ends with a set of recommendations and conclusions on the Smart City market in Japan. Throughout the report, differences between Japanese and European projects are outlined in the perspective of possible partnerships.
