Call for Applications: Industry Experts for Business Training Modules (Day 2)

The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is seeking experienced industry specialists to serve as Industry Experts (Day 2) for its Business Training Modules.

From 2026, the Centre's long-standing Get Ready for Japan programme is being restructured and integrated into its business missions as Business Training Modules — a two-day online preparation format for European companies preparing to engage with the Japanese market. Day 2 is dedicated to vertical industry expertise: sector-specific insights, market intelligence, and practical guidance directly aligned with each mission's business objectives.

This assignment goes beyond a one-day webinar. Selected experts will develop a comprehensive industry market report, deliver a sector-focused online session, and provide follow-up support to participants in the lead-up to their mission.

Mission sectors and periods

Mission sectors, periods and trade fair names are indicative and subject to confirmation. For further details, please refer to the individual mission pages.

Profile sought

We welcome applications from professionals with:

  • deep, demonstrable expertise in one of the above sectors and the Japanese market
  • experience in market analysis, consulting, or executive-level training
  • strong English communication skills and a practical, business-oriented approach

Deliverables

  • Incorporation of participant profiles and expectations into content (based on a pre-mission questionnaire)
  • Industry market report (up to 30 pages) tailored to the mission sector
  • Sector-focused live webinar (duration to be proposed by the expert)
  • Slide deck in PDF for participants
  • Availability for follow-up questions from participants after the webinar until the start of the mission

Engagement and remuneration

Selected experts are appointed for a two-year period, typically covering one mission per year:

  • Year 1 (full delivery including market report development): EUR 6,000
  • Year 2 (updated delivery): EUR 4,000

Continuation into Year 2 is subject to satisfactory performance, evaluated on the basis of report quality, webinar delivery, and participant feedback.

Application deadlines

  • Biotech, Digital, Nanotech: 1 June 2026
  • Smart Factory & Robotics, Space, Green, Defence: 1 September 2026

Early submission is encouraged.
