About Construction

 Latest update: June 2022

The outlook of the Japanese construction sectors is brighter than it has been for years. Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party has pledged to stimulate the domestic economy through numerous public works projects. This pledge was influenced by the Japanese government preparations for the major events which were to take place in Japan, such as the 2020 Olympics and 2025 World Expo in Osaka. Japan suffers from a shortage of labour in the construction industry, making it Japan´s least productive sector. This has caused for massive investment in the robotic and artificial intelligence fields. However, access for foreign construction companies has never been particularly easy, and this remains a difficult market for foreigners to penetrate.
